The importance of a website for yoga instructors

What if you were a yoga teacher and had your own website? How would that feel? What would it be like to have your own space for teaching, blogging, or promoting events? Well, I’m here to tell you the benefits of having your own domain just for Yoga. In this blog post, I will share 8 reasons why yoga teachers need their very own website – and they’re all really good ones!

We all know that yoga teachers are more in demand than ever. But if you’re a yoga teacher without your own website, you’re missing out on many benefits!

We know that yoga is a tough business to break into and it can be hard to find the time or money for marketing. But with a personal yoga website, you’ll have an online presence that will help people find out about your classes and connect with you on social media.

You’ll also get more opportunities for teaching gigs because potential students will be able to see what kind of teacher they are getting before signing up for one of your classes.

Plus, if you’re looking to teach in other cities or countries, having a yoga website makes it easier than ever!

We’ll take a look at 8 reasons why every yoga teacher needs their own website.

While this list is by no means exhaustive of all reasons why yoga teachers need a yoga teacher website, hopefully these eight points will give you some new ideas about how important having your own website can be, when teaching yoga!

Reason 1: Your website is the first impression you make on potential students

A website is the perfect place to make a first impression, so it’s important to have everything just right.

Your yoga website can be seen as an extension of yourself- it shows off what kind of personality type you have (or want) students to see when browsing through your website.

Your website is a great way to establish credibility with potential students, both for the serious yogi as well as those looking for an instructor in their community!
You want your site to be the first place people go when they’re searching online or asking around town.

You also need a blog on your site so you can keep up with industry news and share what’s going on in your life–both personally and professionally.
A blog will give readers insight into who you are, which helps them feel more connected before taking classes from you or hiring you as their teacher.

Make sure to add a testimonial page to your website so that people who have never been to one of your classes before, can see pictures of previous participants that have had amazing experiences at them.

Reason 2: A website provides a more professional appearance than just relying on social media alone.

If someone comes across your site while doing research, they’ll find a lot more content about yoga and how it relates to health benefits (as opposed to scrolling endlessly through Instagram).

A website gives you a space to write about anything that’s relevant for your yoga business.

This might be related to what type of classes are offered, pricing information, instructor bios or even nutrition tips and recipes.

It can also serve as the home base for all your social media accounts–a one-stop shop where people can find everything they need from you at once in an organized way and without having to search through various platforms.

Along with these benefits is the fact that a site offers more opportunities than just sharing content on Facebook or Instagram alone: it provides a place where people who have never heard of you can learn more about your work before signing up for classes with you (or hiring you).

Reason 3: Give your business an edge over the competition

You can build your own brand and set yourself apart from other yoga teachers.

A yoga teacher is not only judged by what they do on the mat, but also how their yoga website reflects them and their practice.

You want to stand out in a field of yoga teachers? One way you can do that is by building your own yoga website.

Imagine yourself with a personal yoga website that gives you an edge over the competition.

Your site will have all of your contact information and rates clearly displayed for easy accessibility, as well as links to testimonials from past students or articles written about topics on which you specialize in order to demonstrate your expertise.

You’ll be able to engage prospects through social media posts like Instagram photos showing off poses they can do at home (you know, if Yoga wasn’t accessible enough). And because it’s YOUR OWN website; YOU decide what goes up there!

This will make it easier for people who are looking for new instructors to find you, and also give them more confidence about the type of teacher they’re hiring.

Reason 4: It’s easy to share links of new classes or events you’re hosting.

What if someone wants to book a private yoga session for the next month? They’ll have to go through your Facebook page and scroll down all of them until they find the date.

If you’re not on social media but want people to know about something new that’s happening in your classes or events, it will be hard for people who don’t know you personally to see it.

A website solves this problem by being searchable and creating an online repository of information which can come up easily with any keyword anyone types into Google when looking for things like “yoga class.”

Reason 5: A yoga teacher’s website can be used as a platform for teaching yoga classes around the world – without having to travel!

Once a yoga teacher has established an online presence, the world can be their classroom! They are no longer limited by travel or physical constraints – they can teach at any time of day and to anyone.

Yoga is a practice that many people enjoy.

It can be used as a way to relax, exercise, or connect with others. Instructing yoga classes are no less important than attending them!
A yoga website can serve as the perfect place to offer online classes and bring in more students who otherwise would not have access to this type of instruction.

Reason 6: The best part about having your own site is that it will always be yours – no matter what happens with other websites or social platforms in the future.

If you use Instagram or Facebook to promote your yoga business, there’s always the risk that those sites could change their policies and remove posts at any time.

This also applies to other websites that are popular for promoting businesses online; they may shut down one day without warning (remember Digg?).

Fortunately, a website is just one address that points to your content everywhere.

You can take the time and energy you put into social platforms or other websites and instead use it to update your yoga business’s site with new information like blog posts, photos of recent workshops, upcoming events or whatever else you want!

Reason 7: Use your website to build and grow your mailing list.

You may be wondering how you can get more students without advertising, and the answer is simple- build your email list.

With a large base of active subscribers on your mailing list who are interested in what you have to offer, it will become much easier for visitors to find out about new services or products that fit their needs better than ever before!

Yoga is a form of exercise that has become increasingly popular in recent years.

One way to advertise your business as a yoga teacher on the internet and reach out to potential students, especially those who are new or just getting into this practice, is by building an email list within your website for them.

To build your email list, make sure to include a subscribe form on your yoga website. You can put it in the footer of every page, or just add a pop-up box when someone is leaving the site. It’s easy and effective.

Getting people’s contact information and sending them updates on new classes is really the best way of keeping in touch with students who come through your studio or class schedule at least once every few months.

Ask for their information and offering them a freebie, such as access to your latest blog posts.

Offer incentives in exchange for signing up on your website like discounts or exclusive offers you wouldn’t offer elsewhere.

Reason 8: Did you know that it’s possible to monetize your yoga website?

Yoga is a billion dollar industry, but if you’re looking to make money from your own website there are a number of ways to do so.

It’s possible to monetize your yoga website by displaying ads and sponsorships, such as with banner ads.

You may be also able to sell products from the website or advertise for companies on it.

You could also charge different membership rates depending on what type of customer they are and where their interests lie, such as in new age spirituality versus children’s yoga classes.

You can tell a compelling story about yoga that is relevant to your followers and sell it through your website. Create one book and then sell it 1000 times.

Instructing others how to practice yoga could be a great way to make money. Not only are you solving peoples problems, but it’s also a way to generate revenue.

It takes a lot of time and effort to build your own website.

But if you’re passionate about teaching yoga, it can be worth the investment! Yoga teachers are more likely to get new students from their online presence than through word-of-mouth referrals alone.

Plus, having an online platform gives you the opportunity to share meditation practices, blogs on how best to practice yoga in different scenarios (e.g., during pregnancy), or tips for finding affordable mats that fit well with our body types.

How do I create a yoga teaching website?

You know how sometimes you get a new pair of shoes and you’re like “I’m on my way!”? Well, that’s how you might feel when thinking of creating your yoga website. There are so many things to figure out, but with these 11 steps and your inner yogi spirit, you can do this! Let’s make it happen!

Here’s how to build a yoga website in 10 steps.

Step 1:

Determine what type of site and look you want. Do you want an online store where people can buy products from you or subscribe to classes that interest them?

Or would it be better if they could just find information about where your classes are hosted? All these options have their own pros and cons, so think carefully before deciding on one!

Step 2:

Register a Domain Name. You’ll need to register your domain name first.

This can be done on many domain name registrars, and most are quite affordable.

The best thing about this is that the website will have your own unique address (e.g., yogawithjenny.com) which makes it easy when people want to find you! You’ll pay a monthly fee for hosting with this domain name, but it’s worth the peace of mind.

We recommend going with a domain registrar that offers more than just hosting, such as Squarespace or Godaddy.

Step 3:

Get a Website Hosting Plan. You will also want to purchase hosting, which is where your yoga website lives online at a server that’s connected with the internet (aka “web host”). We recommend SiteGround as they offer both low cost plans ($0/month) and performance optimized plans starting from $20/month).

Step 4:

Design Your Yoga Website! It’s time to design your yoga website using either WordPress or Squarespace since these two platforms are very popular with bloggers in particular. This step takes some technical know how so you may want to hire someone or watch tutorials on Youtube.

Step 5:

Add Your Content! You’ll need a few pages for your yoga website, including About you page (where people can learn more about who you are and what they should expect), Contact page (for when clients reach out with questions or comments) and maybe even an FAQs section.

Now’s the time to get all of that content written up so it’s ready when visitors arrive at your site. Put together some great blog posts as well since most websites feature a blog these days.

Step 6:

Share your content on Facebook! Connecting your social media accounts to the site makes it easy for you to share blog posts and other digital content.

Step 7:

Update Your Website with new content. Make sure to create a calendar for yourself or set automated notifications to remind yourself when it’s time to add new blog posts.

Failing to update the site will cause visitors to get bored of looking at an old design that no longer offers fresh content.

There are plenty of free web apps out there that can help take care of this problem so don’t worry about not having any programming skills.

Step 8:

Promote Yourself! Finally, we recommend advertising on Facebook, instagram or Twitter in order to gain exposure outside of just word of mouth from friends and family members. This is the most cost-effective way to grow your students base.

Step 9:

Keep Up the Blog! Once you have a regular stream of posts, it can be hard to keep up with them all. That’s why we recommend using an editorial calendar that includes blogging topics and due dates for posting.

Your blog should always include fresh content in order to stay relevant on search engines like Google or Bing.

Step 10:

Collect emails ! After your blog has been up for a few months, start collecting emails from followers who want to know when you post new content.

This will allow them to stay updated without having to check the site all of the time or follow you on social media channels. It’s also an easy way that they can subscribe and unsubscribe at their convenience.

If you don’t feel like taking on this project yourself—or have tried but just aren’t feeling confident about what you’re doing—don’t worry! We’ve got your back.
